A plain export keeps the photos as separate files, which makes it hard to see what was sent when. Putting them back inside the conversation makes the chat much easier to read and keep.
1. Export with media
When exporting, choose Include media (Android) or Attach Media (iPhone). You'll get a .zip with the chat text and the photos.
2. Load the .zip (don't unzip it)
Choose the .zip in ChatKeep. Each photo is placed in the bubble where it was sent, resized so the PDF stays small.
What gets included
- Photos (JPG, PNG, and WebP stickers on most phones) appear inside the bubbles.
- Videos, voice notes and documents appear as a labeled attachment line with the file name.
- Media WhatsApp skipped (no longer on the phone) shows as "media not included in export".
Limits to know
WhatsApp limits how many messages an export can include, and it's lower when media is included. For a very long chat, see exporting a long chat.
